Association of Liberian Construction Contractors

Monrovia, Liberia – Former Deputy Public Works Minister for Technical Services, Victor Smith, wants the Liberian Construction Contractors Association, ALCC, transformed into a business and bridge unemployment gap in society.

Mr. Smith challenged the new leadership of the ALCC to lead the transformative process and make the Association more responsive and improve service delivery for its members and contractors to bolster the Liberian economy.
Speaking recently at the just-ended General Assembly of the Association of Liberian Construction Contractors in Paynesville, the former Deputy Public Works Minister for Technical Services, challenged the new leadership to uphold the vision and mission of the ALCC to ensure its vibrancy and sustainability.

Mr. Smith also urged the new ALCC Team to push for holistic operational agenda for the Association, emphasizing the compelling need for unity and peaceful co-existence among its members on the one hand, and the Board of Directors on the other.

He said it is now time for ALCC to prioritize the welfare of Liberian contractors over foreign contractors, while ensuring that its members and contractors become direct beneficiaries in line with its By-laws Constitution.

Meanwhile, a new corps of officers for the Association were elected at the close of the ALCC’s General Assembly. It followed the death of its President, Mr. Sackie Johnson. Those elected include Kimberly Toure, President, James Smith, Vice President and Rema Fawaz, Secretary General, among others.

In her post-election remarks, the new President of the Association of Liberian Construction Contractors (ALCC), Mrs. Kimberly Toure, called for collaboration with government’s functionaries and pledged to serve and protect the Association’ s By-laws and Constitution with diligence, transparency and accountability under her stewardship.

She vowed strong commitment to improving the operations of the ALCC by promoting fallen President Johnson’s legacy and providing meaningful contributions to the country’s construction sector.
The ALCC new President also hailed members of the Association for the confidence reposed in her and assured them of justifying their confidence without fear or favor.

Mrs.Toure called for cooperation and team’s spirit for institutional advancement and promotion of the Liberianization Policy.
‎The ALCC President-elect also reaffirmed her pledge by engaging with both local and international partners, while working closely with the Board of the Association to attract donors’ interventions.

The General Assembly (GA) of the Association of Liberian Construction Contractors, ALCC, addressed key challenges and ushered in a new leadership in Liberia’s construction sector.
‎It provided a national platform to engage lawmakers, strengthen industrial regulations, and tackle issues critical to the Association’s growth and stability.

The forum was aimed at improving coordination among contractors and promoting professionalism within the sector.
‎The ALCC’’s General Assembly concluded with a renewed commitment to navigating the Association’s mission and vision to nobler heights.
